"I am currently building an earthship in Adams, NY which is located in Jefferson County, New York. To get a permit was pretty easy, all I needed was a set of stamped plans and they issued me a building permit. The local inspector was a great guy, asked a lot of questions and gave me the thumbs up to continue. The local paper wrote a story about my house also. They made a few errors in the article but it is still a pretty good story."

Structure
The structure of this building consists of three parts - the TWO STORY LIVING QUARTERS; the SIX STORY CONCRETE MECHANICAL SYSTEMS FRAME and the ANGLED STEEL ROOF CAP of the concrete post and beam strucutre. All are idependent structures detailed together for weather reasons.
The two story structure is two levels of simple north/south spans. The east/west running mass walls on the south will be bearing walls on both levels and the east/west glazing walls of the living quarters on both levels will be bearing frames of concrete. The east/west running north wall of the greenhouse will also be a concrete bearing frame to carry the somewhat light loads of the greenhouse glazed roof.
