3 day practical workshop lead by Micheal Reynolds from Earthship Biotecture

Over 6 days in Christchurch this March, Michael Reynolds will bring his 40 years of Sustainable Architecture experience to the table to present alternative structural designs to Christchurch residents.

His trip will include a 3 day practical workshop, 3 evening seminars, a lecture for architecture students, an onsite retrofit talk in North Canterbury as well as other meetings with organizations.

WHAT ARE WE BUILDING:

One U-shaped tire room with a vaulted ceiling, and a vertical front greenhouse.

WHO:

Workshop lead by Michael Reynolds, founder of Earthship Biotecture
with support from Rosa Henderson (project manager) Mike Lilian (materials), Robin Woodsford (land owner) and Lachlan Grey (logistics)
WORKSHOP LIMITED TO 30 PARTICIPANTS

COST:

$120 USD per person for 3 days. There is a possibility for participants to come for one or 2 days, which will be $50 per day. We prefer full attendance, just for progress on the building and less re- explaining of design and work but we will try to accommodate everyones schedules.

WHAT TO BRING:

Tape measure
pliers (for wire work)
Water proof gloves for cement work Lunch, water & sun protection

After being an intern in 2011 at Earthships, I attended the summer academy in 2012, aswell as working on the nightly rentals, being the HIVE mum and working on the crew. I am now in Guatemala working on staging the build happening in January here with Long way Home and working to organise Mike Reynolds seminar talks in New Zealand this March.
